Pure-Sound Africa: Advancing Audiology Solutions Across East & Central Africa.
Closing the Gap in Hearing Healthcare
Hearing health impacts every stage of life—from childhood development and education to career opportunities, mental health, and overall well-being. Yet, millions across East and Central Africa remain underserved. At Pure-Sound Africa, we’re committed to transforming hearing healthcare across the region. We focus on raising awareness, improving accessibility, and fostering partnerships to deliver sustainable solutions that enhance hearing health outcomes. We have established five clinics across Kenya, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with further expansion plans ensuring more communities can access essential hearing services. Our efforts also extend to strengthening the hearing healthcare infrastructure through strategic collaborations and sustainable solutions. Additionally, we advance hearing protection by promoting safe practices and implementing noise protection measures across industries and age groups.
Our Impact
We believe hearing health is foundational to dignity, independence, and inclusion. Untreated hearing loss not only affects communication but also increases the risk of social isolation, depression, cognitive decline, and safety risks—particularly among the elderly. Addressing hearing loss empowers individuals to lead fuller, more connected lives.
As per the World Health Organization’s call to action for Africa, hearing healthcare must be prioritized to prevent future challenges. According to the WHO, over 430 million people worldwide currently experience disabling hearing loss, with projections suggesting that by 2050, nearly 700 million will be affected. In Africa alone, an estimated 40 million people live with hearing loss, a number expected to rise to 54 million by 2030 and 97 million by 2050 if no action is taken.
We are dedicated to aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that our work contributes to better health outcomes, quality education, economic empowerment, and reduced inequalities across the region.
